A few things...

1. Try to shorten your buildups and if you can't do that, try not to limit them to changes in your drums (in other words, focus more on building up your melody).

2. A lot of the synth sounds seem like straight out of the box presets. I know it sucks to make your own, but your song will sound all the much more you if you make your own sounds.

3. Use original chord progressions! Anyone can use the Am C F G chord progression. If can create a progression that is uniquely you, it will make your songwriting all the better.

Kind of an average song, so it gets an average rating.

As a side note, your rhythm was good and you had a good choice of tempo.

Adjeye responds:

Hmmm. but the chords aren't in a C F G progression, so....

Good one!

I noticed people complained about volume automation. Rather than adjusting volume, change your velocities on individual notes, simple enough no? Of course that is assuming you are using FL. OF course all DAWs have this function. Anyway, sorry that I haven't reviewed much of your stuff lately, been busy getting ready for college. Good song, good emotion, like the minor scales. If you still have the project file, you could send it my way. Or the midi. I'd clean it up for you and add some background strings, which would be cake. Anyway drop me a line I'll get back to you in a few days.!

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

sure no problem. I do have the reference file, and I'll be sure to send it your way. :P

Great progression!

It is pretty awesome when a song can build on itself using only one instrument. Anyway, I would really love to collab some time, so drop me a line if you're interested, if not, no big deal. Once again, awesome job, best of luck in all your music making!

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

Thanks, lol would you believe me that I didnt use the same instrument for the progression. It would not have sounded to well built up like that. I used similar sounding instruments so that the blend would work well, but so that the higher pitches did not die out the lower pitches.

And I would love to do a collab with you. Sounds like some fun. I'll throw up a line for you ok.

Loops well

Not my personal taste for a song, but well done nonetheless. It would be kind of cool if you could get a cello or contrab in the background to.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

A real good reason as to why I would need a professional program lol. Thanks, and yes a cello would sound awsome in this loop.

Good But Empty

I really am starting to love all your work, I must say, it is very peaceful. Only real problem I had with this is the lack of power. Like when the strings come in, I really wish you would have emphasized them more, kind of like bell then boom STRINGS!
And kept the strings going in the background while the piano played at the end.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

Thanks, hmm... And I never thought of that to be honest. The strings tend to show alot more power in a piece, and if I had added strings to the end, it would have fit perfectly. I'll have to think a little more on the emotional power of my next coming pieces.

Great Potential

First off, I think this has a really great rhythm. It is kind of unexpected and doesn't follow the regular 4/4 time most songs follow, if you know what I mean. I also like how you started to add a little line in between each of the hits. I think with some proper music making software you could be pretty awesome. If FL is to expensive for you then you should check out Cockos Reaper. It has a 30 day trial I think, and a non commercial license is really cheap, like 60 bucks or less, I can't remember.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

That sounds good. I'll have to check out the trial first. If I like it I will likely buy it. And its a garentee if it uses staff music rather then the midi format. Thanks for your responses too.

...

I can't honestly give you any higher than a 3 on this. I understand that this is one of your first works, but it's an ambient song that is just that: ambient noises. There is no real song to it. This is kind of the reason I don't post any of my first works. When I first started out, I covered all my crappy song writing with background noises.

Please understand this: I do not think you are a terrible artist. As with all people, we all have great potential to make great music, but it has to be that: music. So, I would love to here another song from you and I promise that if you pm me I will write you a review.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

k i'll do just that, I have several other songs that are not ambient and made on mario paint. this was my first try at FL-Studio the demo. Thanks for you advice. I'll definately make more.
